During the week of Aug. 5, TBFM Ops team members travelled to ZJX to work on the redesign of the ZJX EDC system, along with FAST/SLE support. Local TMU/TBFM representatives requested the changes to allow for a more efficient use of the EDC system by the TMU. This also will help support IDAC as the controls for setting up the IDSTs for the towers to schedule aircraft is linked to the organization of the TBFM/EDC panels. Additionally, the ZJX T2T system that allows CAE departures to schedule directly in the ZTL EDC (MIT) system, was verified the same week as well. Members of the Ops Team were at MITRE to attend a strategic risk reduction event. A number of future capabilities paired with enhancements to existing TBFM and other programs were discussed throughout the week. Along with a number of other individuals, the Ops members worked through a series of integrated system design prioritizations. This same week, a few team members travelled to the FAA Tech Center to get further demonstration of the ATD-2 system. As the TBFM Ops Team is working together with the TFDM group, the TBFM team wants to continue to get familiarization on the ATD-2 system to further help work through requirements of how TBFM/TFDM will integrate delays and information between the two systems. During the week of Aug. 12, TBFM Ops Team members travelled to DEN, APA, COS, and ASE to conduct IDAC Site Requirement surveys. These surveys involve an initial briefing to the facility about IDAC and then Ops and technical representatives work with the team to identify the best location of the equipment for Engineering Services, Program Office, and other personnel. The planned install of IDAC for these towers is scheduled for Spring of 2020, and then training/implementation to follow. The NEC subgroup of the Ops Team worked at the Tech Center to prepare for the upcoming PHL TBFM demo work in the Terminal Labs. This activity is an extension of the previous demo at the Tech Center for PHL TBFM design. The plan is to utilize the PHL XM design and to feed one of the Terminal (TSLE) labs aircraft for PHL controllers to work. The plan was to run this for two weeks at the end of the month. This requires a number of labs and resources at the Tech Center and all have collaborated well together throughout the development process. During the weeks of Aug. 19 and Aug. 27, one of the two major activities that was conducted was IDAC training for a number of towers and ZME. The first week IDAC training was conducted at MEM, BNA, HSV, and at LIT and JAN the second week. Training at ZME was also conducted during this two-week period in the TBFM Support Lab, while Ops Team members worked in the Operational String setting up flows in IDAC to ensure training could be completed in the tower. Training at all the towers and the Center went well, and the system was received favorably. MEM requested the one workstation be moved, and also to have a second workstation installed. By the middle of the second week, the movement of the one workstation was completed, but the second workstation will take a few weeks as it is on order. The Ops Team will return to MEM when that second workstation gets installed. By the end of the second week, the
