Meetings are scheduled with industry to determine how Descend Via will be issued with runway transition assignments. Las Vegas Metroplex Update by Chris Thomas The Las Vegas Core team along with POCs from ZLA and LAS/L30 met with the MIST team. Representatives from ZLA and L30 TMU began work with the MIST Team to start building TBFM for the Vegas Metroplex. Discussion was centered on adjacent centers and what they may need to provide to help ZLA flow new procedures for L30. Outreach with adjacent centers has begun and work with MIST with continue. The next meeting with MIST occurred the week of Oct. 7 at ZLA. The Core team worked on developing requests for waivers for implementing our procedures. We expect to have approximately 15 waiver/approval requests. The Core team also completed work on LOAs and SOPs and scheduled SRMPs for these documents with the Western Service Center OSG the week of Oct. 14. SRMPs with adjacent centers took place on Oct. 18. ZLA, L30, LAS POCs, and SMEs have been working on facility training plans. ZLA is currently planning about 13 weeks of training. L30 is currently planning weeks of training. LAS is currently planning about seven weeks of training. The Core team has begun discussions with the WSC Environmental Group to provide assistance with a request they received from the Nevada State Historic Society about our new procedures. Due to the restructure with the new terminal GMs, L30/LAS are very short-staffed in their support offices, and in particular for L30 in their support of training and airspace. The L30 FacRep has expressed concern as to how we can implement our project. We need to work with facility leadership to explore options for help during the implementation phase, i.e., finding outside help to develop ETG problems and new map development (currently no one in the facility has knowledge with AT Coach or problem development), as well as, help needed developing new training material. • Update: Leads have met with the GM and with the WSC Director and expressed our concerns. We have also briefed the Metroplex Program Office so they are aware. The FacReps on our project have done an outstanding job, thinking of creative ways to help in the implementation next May. We are working with the Program Office and District GM to possibly acquire additional funds to help support LAS/L30 training department. This work is ongoing and still has not produced a final solution. We will continue to update the status of facility training resources. • ZLA is in a similar position operationally. However, it appears their support staff is in better shape. The difficult position for ZLA will come when we need to
