Runway Safety: ASDE-X Taxiway Arrival Prediction (ATAP) - The following locations currently have ATAP running: SEA, ATL, BDL, PHL, CLT, DFW, STL, MCO, IAH, DTW, LAX, ORD, and SAN. SDF is now turned on. BOS SRM and Train the Trainer for specific straight in approaches was scheduled for the week of Dec 16. Work is ongoing as the National Workgroup works towards evaluating all ASDE-X sites for the enhancement. The hope is to be completed by the end of 2020. Surface Safety Group (SSG) - The next SSG will be Jan. 14-16. At this meeting, we will receive updates from the three subgroups which includes the Data Analysis Team, Surface Safety Initiative Team (SSIT), and Outreach/Education. These subgroups meet regularly in order to discuss each action item and updates on the work being conducted. I am very proud of the work collaboratively being conducted by Industry and the Agency during these meetings. NBAA Wrong Surface Podcast - In conjunction with my counterpart, we participated in a Wrong Surface Podcast for the NBAA. The podcast and additional Wrong Surface Handouts that NATCA has produced were posted publicly at the end of 2019. I pass along my condolences to Pete Combs family and friends as they mourn the loss of a legend in podcasting and new broadcasting. Pete interviewed me on several occasions and provided amazing podcasts that highlighted aviation. He will be missed. AJI Human Performance Taxonomy Workgroup - A workgroup was collaboratively developed through AJI and NATCA to develop an HP Taxonomy that can be utilized across safety programs within the five organizations. Work is currently ongoing, and the workgroup has now met on two occasions. Approach and Landing Misalignment (ALM) Joint Safety Analysis and Implementation Team (JSAIT), Aviation Safety Information Analysis and Sharing (ASIAS)/Commercial Aviation Safety Team - ALM JSAIT is a workgroup with the objective to understand the frequency of approach and landing misalignments across the NAS, and the factors leading to these events. The workgroup has had several meetings and I anticipate mitigations being developed shortly. The next meeting is taking place Jan. 27-28, 2020. AAAE Runway Safety Summit - I had the opportunity to speak at their runway safety summit on three separate panels totaling about four hours of stage time. The first panel was Runway Safety Trends and Perspectives, in which I was joined by ALPA, a representative from the city of Phoenix, and Cutter Aviation. The following panel was the FAA Runway Safety Roundtable. I moderated the panel of two which was the Runway Safety Program Manager (Acting) and Office of Airports. The following day, Emily Banuelos, Runway Safety Program Manager (Acting), and I discussed case studies throughout the NAS on the Special Focus RSATs highlighting wrong surface
