• ANC and ADW will be the last two facilities to receive ASSC. • There are agency discussions on deploying surface surveillance to facilities that currently have nothing. AJI, and AJT have voiced a need moving forward. As this conversation continues, NATCA will remain actively involved. • Now that our terrestrial ADS-B infrastructure is deployed and the 2020 mandate is approaching, there are ongoing discussions about the desire to stop supporting MLAT on the Surface. ADS-B radios input to ASDE-X and ASSC offer the same data and accuracy to the surface surveillance systems. Over the next year, analysis will determine if this is achievable. • A safety panel was completed for ADW on Dec. 4. The ADW system will deploy with Surface Movement Radar, Airport Surveillance Radar and ADS-B. MEARTS Fusion - • All MEARTS facilities continue to operate in FUSION mode with no reported issues. Interval Management/ADS-B In - • Equip2020 was held the week of Dec. 2. This was the last time the group will be meeting prior to the January 2020 mandate. Many within the group, particularly Working Group 4, are concerned that with Equip2020 sunsetting, there won't be a forum where the Agency and industry can meet to discuss ADS-b In topics. The NAC will be briefed on this later in the month. • A meeting was held the week of Dec. 2 with STARS SE2, TSAS, and IM to discuss program integration with each other as well as possible deployment strategies. • The next AIRS meeting is scheduled for the second week of January in Phoenix. The agenda will focus on equipage indicator for the test as well as CAVS and CAS discussions. Terminal Fusion - • The Fusion Focus Group continues to track and resolve facility reported issues with Fusion. These are largely issues with the underlying surveillance infrastructure, and experts from all fields are available to assist. Please report any issues to your OSF and our NATCA SBS group for assistance. It is critical that actual data is recorded for evaluation and resolution. • Mr. Bielek and Mr. Stachowiak want to know if there are any facilities NOT on Fusion? If so, please reach out to one of us ASAP: craigbielek@gmail.com or andrewjstachowiak@yahoo.com. We are always evaluating additional surveillance sources to help with any Fusion-related challenges. Vehicle ADS-B - • 1,565 vehicles equipped at 23 airports. • DCA and IAD vehicle transmit maps have been approved by both facilities and have moved on for final approval. • PDX will be equipping vehicles before the end of the calendar year.
