establishment OSHECOMMs in the workgroup that I've been assigned to, and these changes will most likely be coming within the next year. I will be touching on this later in an email to the region FacReps and a full briefing on this will mostly likely materialize in late 2020. More to follow on this as it develops. NNE OSHA Representative Matt Murray reports that the first major snowfall of the season occurred the week of Dec. 9. Unfortunately, nobody knew that snow removal contracts for Boston Center and Boston TRACON had been cancelled, resulting in nearly 25 slips, trips, and falls on the first day. More than 20 injury reports were expected to have been filed at Boston Center alone. The contract is an ongoing issue and Mr. Murray is contacting his Service Area EOSH Counterpart for more information. NCE OSHA Representative Dan Sherritt reports that the only issue he is working is the ongoing mold remediation/window replacement at OMA. He also attended the last NATCA OSHA and OWCP training class to observe and become a trainer for the committee. NNM OSHA Representative Shawn Kramer continues to monitor mold and water intrusion issues at DEN. Mr. Kramer and Ms. Marinas have worked hard to educate and collaborate with service area EOSH managers on the Indoor Air Quality PIR and contract articles supporting NATCA's concerns by requesting that local Tech Ops managers, ATMs, and FacReps are educated and re-briefed on the PIR and contract articles to foster better communication and more timely responses to health and safety issues. This conversation has been part of a previously reported asbestos concern that had been raised at ZSE as well. More information is needed on both projects, but they appear to be more closely in line with what we would like to see in terms of safety and communication at this point. NWP - In line with the issues discussed with NNM, Ms. Marinas has worked with EOSH managers in NWP to foster better communication and response regarding Indoor Air Quality issues in the region. FAT has had ongoing issues for years now in this area. The building is owned by the city and lacks cooperation from the city to pay for much- needed HVAC cleaning and more. The facility representative has remained vigilant and worked within the local OSHECCOM to gain support from the local PASS representative as well. Together, they submitted an issue paper to the regional OSHECCOM, which helped get some more answers and possibly, finally, some funding. However, much more work is needed. NAL - OSHA Representative Larry Trottini reports that he continues to oversee issues in the region, such as BRW's flooring. He is pushing that members there need a new facility and is negotiating for new flooring in the interim. Additionally, JNU's construction is underway in the terminal. It is not affecting tower access yet. When the tower access is constructed, the vents into the tower will be moved and should alleviate the exhaust fume issue that the tower sometimes experiences. Additionally, there are random space heater issues throughout the region. If you have questions on space heaters, Mr. Trottini is available.
