COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT NATCA EMAIL ACCOUNTS The IT Committee last week redesigned the interface for NATCA members' webmail email system. NATCA JOINS WITH FAA FOR SUCCESSFUL COLLABORATION IN MYRTLE BEACH Collaboration with the FAA on both modernization and Public Affairs was on display for the m edia and the public to see last week (Oct. 26). NATCA joined with the FAA to open the doors to local news media at Myrtle Beach (MYR) tower and TRACON and show off the new Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS), touting the great collabora tion that took place during the successful installation. Southern Alternate Regional Vice President Jason Arnold and MYR Air Traffic Manager Rickey Washington delivered opening remarks at the press event, which included a tour of both the tower cab and th e TRACON. "It was the efforts of professionals like NATCA's Brandi Walker, managers Chris Ehresman and Mark Poisson and staff specialist Chip Hall that were important," Arnold said during his remarks. "Many others played a role. It was a testament to what can be accomplished when we work together for the common good. Controllers were ready to work the equipment on Day 1. PR ESS RELEASE: MOURNING THE PASSING OF BOB HOOVER We issued this press release last week, attributable to NATCA President Paul Rinaldi, on the passing of aviation legend Robert A. And as we have heard from those who knew him best, he was also a great person, which stands as a testament to his graciousness and generosity . " " I was honored to join NATCA Executive Vice President Trish Gilbert and several of our members in honoring Bob at both the Aero Club of Washington ' s 2014 Wright Brothers Memorial Trophy dinner and at the 2014 celebration in Los Angeles whi ch marked the creation of the Hoover Hall of Honor. To be in his presence was absolutely awe - inspiring. He left us a legacy of inspiration for pilots and aviation professionals and will forever be remembered as one of the world's greatest aviation legends .
