of power and a redundant 12 - volt battery system gi ves it all the juice it needs. Also, the
pontoon boat sits on top of the water, which makes it easier to prop el forward than an
aluminum boat and thus more efficient.
The new boats are bigger and safer too. Previous space and weight limitations required
the small boats to make multiple trips to and from the shore to access materials needed
for maintenance. The new pontoons support four adults and all the tools they need for
the job, which saves time — and the platform connects directly to the ladders for safe
docking and transition to the towers. A four - foot - high railing system surrounding th e deck
further enhance s safety.
There are many more stories and resources on workplace safety on the Technical
Operations Safety Stand Down website . I h ope you will click through to explore the site.
I encourage you to get involved in the upcoming Safety Stand Down and to contribute to
workplace safety initiatives throughout the year. In doing so, we'll ensure the safety of
our co - workers as well as our selves.
Thanks everyone!
