NATCA NATIONAL OFFICE DEPARTMENTAL WEEK IN REVIEW October 7 - 13 , 2017 LABOR RELATIONS DEPARTMENT NATCA BRIEFED ON ELECTRONIC TRAINING DEVICES On Oct. 13, 2017, the Agency briefed NATCA regarding its intent to utilize electronic training devices such as i Pads or other tablets to augment training for developmentals at certain air traffic control facilities. The Agency proposed to issue iPads or other, similar tablets to developmentals to assist them with memorization exercises, airspace exercises, practicin g air traffic procedures, and practicing phraseology. NATCA is working on an MOU to outline the parameters for this program, including the terms of use for the iPads. POCs: Eastern Regional Vice President Dean Iacopelli, National Training Representative T om Adcock, Director of Labor Relations Ryan Smith, and Assistant Director of Labor Relations Nicole Vitale. BRIEFING REQUESTS On Oct. 16, 2017, NATCA requested a briefing on FAA Order 6200.4H, National Test Equipment Program Management. We are currently i n the process of scheduling this briefing. POCs: Labor Relation Attorney Suzanne DeFelice and Labor Relations Coordinator Kendal Manson. On Oct. 16, 2017, NATCA requested a briefing on ATC Display Color Standard. We are currently waiting for a response f rom the Agency regarding our request. POCs: Labor Relations Attorney Grant Mulkey and Labor Relations Coordinator Kendal Manson. On Oct. 16, 2017, NATCA requested a briefing on FAA Notice JO 7210.xxx (JO 7210.634, Chapter 6 Replacement, Technical Operat ions Quality Control Program Changes to Include New Appendices B, C , and D). We are currently waiting for a response from the Agency regarding our request. POCs: Assistant Director of Labor Relations Nicole Vitale and Labor Relations Coordinator Kendal Man son. SURVEYS NATCA recommends participation in the Management Commu nity of Practice (CoP) Survey. This survey is specif ic to the AIT bargaining unit.
