ARP EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM SOP On Nov . 8, 2017, the Agency briefed NATCA regarding a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) implementing the Agency' s Emergency Notification System (ENS) for all organizational entities withi n the Office of Airports (ARP). The purpose of ENS is to replace the Agency's aging alert systems (e.g., Emergin, Quick Alerts), provide faster emergency notifications, and facilita te accountability in the event of an emergency. ARP will utilize MyFAA profile information to send ENS messages to bargaining unit employees' (BUEs) Government - furnished equipment (GFE) via email, desktop pop - up, and text me ssage. BUEs can voluntarily uplo ad their personal information to MyFAA to receive notificati ons on their personal devices. Alternatively, BUEs can voluntarily download the ENS app (AtHoc Notifier) to their personal devices without providing their personal information. ARP will use ENS for: (1) rapid emergency notification; (2) accounting for employees; and (3 ) post - emergency notification. ARP expects that it will use ENS primarily as an additional means to account for employees following an event. Employees can account for themselves ei ther by calling in or by responding to the ENS message. POCs: ARP National Representative Brad Davidson and Labor Relations Attorney Grant Mulkey . FIREFOX REMOVAL The Agency's Office of Information and Technology Services (AIT) recently notified employees who have Firefox installed on their FAA - issued computers that it will begin removing Firefox from those computers as early as Thursday, Nov . 30, 2017. For those employees who submitted an acc epted business justification, AIT will install Firefox v 52.2.1 on their FAA - issued computers as early as Thursday, Nov . 30, 2017. Any BUEs who have a business justification for keeping Firefox who have not yet submitted a justification may do so by comple ting a Software Request Form and emailing it to the MyIT Service Center at helpdesk@faa.gov.
