COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT NEW FOCUS, SCHEDULE FOR MEMBER COMMUNICATIONS Many of you completed our recent communications surve y. NATCA is incorporating your feedback and changing the way we communicate with you. The NATCA Insider and this National Office Departmental Week in Review now will be published every other week as part of these changes. NATCA also will send out legislati ve and committee updates once a month. These changes will reduce the number of emails you get from the NATCA National Office while making sure you don't miss a thing. PLEASE CONTINUE TO HELP OUR NATCA MEMBERS IN CARIBBEAN Our NATCA brothers and sisters in the Caribbean are still in need of vital assistance. NATCA President Paul Rinaldi and Southern Regional Vice President Ji m Marinitti were in Puerto Rico recently to assess the situation and help our brothers and sisters. NATCA Executive Vice President Trish Gilbert will be visiting Puerto Rico in December. Please consider a donation to the NATCA Disaster Relief Fund . If you've donated previously to the Fund, thank you! We would greatly appreciate additional donations . SAFETY REPORT ING: WHEN IN DOUBT, FILL IT OUT NATCA Executive Vice President Trish Gilbert joined a meeting Nov. 16 with the NATCA/FAA Voluntary Safety Reporting Program teams in Oklahoma City. " I appreciate all their hard work and commitment in improving our safety culture, " Gilbert said. Safety reporting success stories are abundant as the Air Traffic Safety Action Program (ATSAP) approaches the 10th anniversary of its 2008 establishment - a key milestone for the collaborative program. ATSAP has established a system for controllers and other employees to voluntarily identify and report safety and operational concerns. The collected information is reviewed and analyzed t o facilitate early detection and improved awareness of operational deficiencies and adverse trends. Learn more .
