SAFETY REPORT ING: WHEN IN DOUBT, FILL IT OUT
NATCA Executive Vice President Trish Gilbert joined a meeting Nov. 16 with the
NATCA/FAA Voluntary Safety Reporting Program teams in Oklahoma City. " I appreciate
all their hard work and commitment in improving our safety culture, " Gilbert said. Safety
reporting success stories are abundant as the Air Traffic Safety Action Program (ATSAP)
approaches the 10th anniversary of its 2008 establishment - a key milestone for the
collaborative program.
ATSAP has established a system for controllers and other employees to voluntarily
identify and report safety and operational concerns. The collected information is
reviewed and analyzed t o facilitate early detection and improved awareness of
operational deficiencies and adverse trends. Learn more .
