data block CHI indicators as it applies to the existing STARS data block as well as pending functionality. A forthcoming prototype with CHI options will include feedback from NATCA SBS, CHI, and TAMR. Jason Rose (D01) joined the TAMR A114 as the Systems Engineering lead. Jason has been a SME for several years and has participated in several TAMR activities including deployment and testing. The optical trackball went back to keysite at PCT, PHL, and ACY after a firmware update to resolve spontaneous cursor popups. Response has been positive, and preparations are being made to deploy the trackball nationally. The STARS operating system will migrate from Solaris to LINUX starting in 2022. All new functionality is suspended until the builds after the OS. Build planning beyond the OS is beginning to take shape and NATCA is working with the Software Planning Board (SPB) to determine content priority. The System Technical Reports Working Group (STRWG) is reviewing two AT-related functions that would improve the system. The first is functionality to enhance CRDA ghost targets by displaying ghosts relative to curved RNP approaches with ATPA-type distance on the data block. The second would resolve a problem with flight plan altitudes when the altitude field is VFR-on-top. Ross Costa, NATCA TAMR Training Lead: Mr. Costa has spent most of the past month working on several ongoing topics. He held several calls to address AT Prepare and the PTRs that were submitted during the July demonstration at Raytheon. We discussed all the PTRs with our agency counterpart and determined that all PTRs had merit and needed to be submitted. Several of these PTRs are improvements to the current product design, while others are to ensure that features are similar from AT Coach to AT Prepare. Mr. Costa also held weekly meetings to discuss the FDIO keyboard application for the training iPads. This product aims at developing a tool in the iPads that will allow for controllers in training to practice using terminal FDIO/STARS functions. Currently the first application is being designed for ERAM, but Terminal will be developed soon. During the last month, Mr. Costa travelled to MSY to conduct a site survey for TAMR standardization. Standardization is being implemented to ensure that our baseline is common throughout the NAS while also putting the Program in a position to become 100% fiber optic for the purposes of compliance and future upgrades. These upgrades will have minimal impact on air traffic. Mr. Costa also travelled to Washington to attend the TAMR Article 114 meeting. A programmatic overview was discussed.
