WEEKLY MESSAGE FROM ATO COO TERI L. BRISTOL T hank You All! Hi everyone. As American writer William Arthur Ward once said, " to feel gratitude and not express it, is like wrapping a present and not giving it. " With the Thanksgiving Holiday coming up, I want to express my gratitude and appreciation fo r everyone in the ATO. We have many people that perform many duties -- air traffic, system operations, technical operations, mission support services, management services, safety and technical training and program management. We have people working togethe r on important efforts like safety risk mitigation, system modernization, employee development and succession planning, integrating new airspace users, budgeting and finance, and many others. For us to succeed, I know it takes countless, often unrecognized , daily acts of effort and teamwork. Because of your skill and your enduring commitment to our mission, we ' re able to safely and efficiently serve more than 700 million passengers a year. Simply put, we're the best in the world at what we do. I especially want to thank those of you who will be working on Thanksgiving, and on the busy travel days before and after. According to one estimate, the airlines are expecting more than 25 million passengers during this year's Thanksgiving travel period, the highest i n eight years. Because of you, millions of Americans will able to spend time with family and friends. In the spirit of the Holiday, let ' s make a point of expressing our appreciation and gratitude for our co - workers. Thanks everyone. Have a Safe and Happy T hanksgiving!
