briefing document. • Grand Rapids Tower/TRACON (GRR) is reporting multiple issues with their aging voice switch. The Voice Switching Team in Oklahoma City (AJW - 173) is working closely with GRR to resolve their issues. There ' s also a radio coverage/spectrum issue being worked, as well as an issue with Tech O ps staffing and training. There are now additional issues, mostly environmental, keeping ATC and Tech Ops out of the TRACON , de laying work on the comm issues. • Waterloo Tower/TRACON (ALO) is reporting issues with the phone system used operationally in the t ower. One of the issues has been resolved (inaudible phone) while the second one remains in work. NEXTGEN: Kevin McLaughlin (SCT) is the NATCA Na tional NextGen Represent ative. Mr. McLaughlin's update to the membership is below. • Participated in a NextGe n/SESAR Global Har monization Panel on CFS Day 1. Other participants included representatives from I FATCA, Eurocontrol, and FAA. During this panel I gave a brief introduction to 4 Dimensional Trajectory, a key component of both NextGen and SESAR Oceanic path modeling. • Participated in numerous Leesburg Remote Tower telcons, as one of the alternate NATCA Reps on the program to primary Rep. Kieron Heflin. The program is currently evolving through the Requirements phase. • Participated in multiple telcons on t he Colorado Remote Tower Program, the State of Colorado has received an overture from a single vendor to provide the equipment but no programmatic support. • Participated in multiple meetings of the NextGen Facilities Outreach Workgroup. This workgroup is f ocusing on laying a collaborative foundation between ARTCC and underlying Terminal facilities 16 - 24 months prior to arrival of NextGen technologies to the workplace. • Met with Steve Bradford, NextGen Chief Scientist, to discuss impacts of new funding parame ters. • Participated in Path Stretch T echnology HITL at MITRE/CAASD. Path Stretch is a key component of TBFM. • Participated in Collaborative Decision Making Stakeholders Workgroup, advocating for a Charter rewrite that includes NATCA as a member of the Stake holder Group. • Regained currency at SCT, completing Recurrent, Refresher, Elms, etc .
