Technical Training are leading the ATO when it comes to response rate. But they shouldn't get comfortable – Mission Support and Technical Operations are on their tail! I know it might be more challenging if you don't have a ccess to your own work computer like many of us who work in an office do. But please make use of the shared computers in your facility, or log on to the network from home or on a tablet. It takes a few extra minutes, but your input, and the input of ATO, i s important and does make a difference. Last year's FedView survey showed that most FAA employees are engaged in their workplaces, satisfied with their jobs, and perceive their work environment to be inclusive (i.e. cooperative, open, supportive and empowe ring). The marks in these areas were all up from the previous year. Also, the vast majority of ATO employees say their work gives them a feeling of personal accomplishment. Most report that their managers/supervisors listen to what they have to say, treat them with respect and support their need to balance work and other life issues. In these areas, ATO employees are reporting mostly higher scores on average compared to the federal workforce as a whole. Last year's survey showed that we can make improvement s in workforce communication, perceptions of senior leadership, employee awards and recognition, and performance management. One of the things we're doing to improve workforce communication is the ATO Minute , an email you receive every Tuesday about what's going on across the ATO, including stories about senior leadership. Senior leaders are also serving as instructors in the Leaders Teaching Leaders component of our Continuous Learning Development program , an effort to support our operational management teams. To improve performance management , I've routinely stressed the need for managers to recognize their employee's contributions and give them constructive feedback and coaching. We need t o do a better job of recognizing differences in performance within work units. And a reminder on employee recognition , you can nominate co - workers for th is year's ATO NAS First, People Always awards until May 31. All in all, the FAA ranked 138 out of 320 on the Best Places to Work in the Federal Govern ment list for 2015. We improved by 3.7 percent over the previous year, placing us in the top 43 percent of federal sub - component agencies. I'd like to see our ranking move up even higher. The FedView survey runs until June 10. But let's take time to do it this week. Let's also use IdeaHub and other forums to discuss ways to improve our workplace. Thanks everyone, Teri L.
