• A top Work Package 1 • Integration of Radar into ATOP (ZOA) • ASEPS HITL s • ROMIO (Remote Oceanic Meteorology Information Operational Project) briefing and SRM • Relationship and collaboration work with the ASEPS team, AJV84 and the ATOP Program office Car 2016 - 02 5 is still underway. We are working closely with AJV84. After a year of working this issue (Oceanic WX Deviations) in different forums we have recently found that the Agency is now stating WX deviations utilizing ADS - C Separation should have never been all owed in the Oceanic environment. As of now our path leads to recommending an SRM on the standard and developing rules to apply. ATOP Tech refresh will be completed by m e and the other s ite leads at the ATOP T26 demo at the Tech Center in July. We r ecei ved an A7 Brief on WP1. We are working on a response that will be within the 30 - day deadline. The integration of r adar is going well . ZOA has developed collaborative training and has agreed on a trial period. The importance of this working is not for ZOA. ATOP and ERAM work good together, Its to show it works so we can turn it on at HCF for more accuracy in flight profiles. AEPS HITL : It's been an uphill battle , but John Fox (ZNY) and I have inserted ourselves in the HITL design and planning process resul ting in a great jump in productivity. It is John, around 20 contractors, and myself who are unable and not delegated to make decisions. After a lot of collaboration, we now have a definitive say in this project. ROMIO is proposed for ZOA, Miami , and Hous ton. Zero impact was found for ATC. The relationship - building piece is moving in the right direction. For ATOP, there is a lot of catch ing up to do, but it is catch up, or don't get there. We are catching up and will get a handle on it. The s coping docs com pletion will help out greatly. CAMERAS Mike Foote (LAX) leads NATCA's wo rk on the Camera Working Group. This group discusses the use of cameras on the airport surface and also pr ovides guidance for the Agency. Mr. Foote's update for this week is below . We have just begun collaborating on a program called, "Video Surveil lance Advisory System" or VSAS. Essentially this is just developing a program without requirements to allow for use of cameras in the NAS. The idea is to separate cameras for situationa l awareness from cameras used to separate such as the remote tower project. As of today, the program consist s of a two page "Policy Memo." The management counter part has agreed to allow me to amend this document to cover the issues our old camera work grou p noted a few years ago. Included in our concerns are:
