QUOTE S OF THE W EEK "Every day NATCA Region X ATO engineers work behind the scenes to ensure the constant support and upgrades to important N AS systems and infrastructure. Only a few people see or understand this equipment, but it is crucial to pilots and air traffic con trollers who use it every second of every day." -- Mike MacDonald, Region X Vice President, marking National Engineers Week. "To pull off what you pulled off is energizing. From here to the facility level, this was an example of proving once again that wo rking together for a common goal is the way to do business." -- Safety and Technology Director Jim Ullmann, addressing the collaborative NATCA - FAA DataComm team at FAA headquarters Feb. 24 at an awards ceremony honoring the team' s success in development, t esting, and deployment . "I was immediately impressed by how passionate he is about his air traffic work, but also his overall work ethic in all aspects. It is easy to see when new employees start training in his area that Nate is someone who they strive t o emulate. By not only working traffic in a professional manner, but by also handling all aspects of the job in the same way, it makes those around him feel that they should strive to do their best as well. I feel the most impressive thing about Nate is th e motivation behind the professionalism." -- A peer of Indianapolis Center member Nathan Holmberg, describing in the nomination for the National Professionalism Award, which Holmberg won. He will be honored at CFS on March 21. PRESS CLIP OF THE WEEK NBC N ightly News A look at the dangerously close encounters between drones and planes
