• ATOMS o The CRU - ART replacement program has seen a l ot of activity the past month. It is behind schedule but not for the amount of effort. There are 4 NATCA SME ' s part icipating on the project and we have intensified the meetings. o The goal of the FAA is to ha ve this completed by Sept. 30. Mr. Santa doesn't know how feasible that deadline is. There is still not much of a working prototype and the programmers seem to be st uck in information gathering mode. o Mr. Santa expects to see t his group with a booth at CFS. Please feel free to stop by and chat with them. • A - SISO o This system is being installed at a rate o f around three facilities a month. Most of the installs are wit hout a hitch. o If you want to be included for a site visit and possibl e install, let Mr. Santa know. This is for STARS and ERAM facilities only. • OPAS o Nothing new to report. • WMT o There has been a slight decrease in the server downtime of the Webscheduler p rogram. Mr. Santa still doesn ' t expect any enhancements at this point but stability is a big issue that we are working on. • CRU - ART o Mr. Santa has not seen new deficiencies or changes with CRU over the last month. Visits to the ramp tower at Charlotte and American Airlines Operations Center in Dallas have also helped NASA further their understanding of operations at those locations and h ow their operations factor into ATD - 2 at CLT. • In addition to visi ting ATC and airline facilities: o NASA has recently acquired lab space within the Charlotte airport to house their test system. This location was chosen because the CLT tower building has no s pace large enough to house the equipment, and because the space has to be accessible to both ATC and non - FAA personnel. o NASA has also briefed the NextGen Integrated Working Group (NIWG) Surface W orking G roup on the status of the project and how it will ach ieve the goals of Departure Surface Metering in the NAS. o NASA is also acquiring all of the networking circuits and making connections with both FAA and airline data sources for use in the CLT lab environment. Eventually these connections will also be made in the ATC tower and the airport r amp tower when the system is deployed. o NASA has also advised us that they are very close to releasing the
