· PBN Dashboard – Still having an issue with the accuracy on the dashboard as it pertains to procedure usage and how that data will be verified and used. There will be a meeting with the Service center PBN rep s to determine what we need the dashboard to do as they are the ones who will be using the data in their decisions on procedure development and in use of the 7100.41. There also needs to be some training on the proper use of the dashboard, a speed up in t he data lag. · PBN Strategy PARC Action Teams – Reference the Ground Based Augmentation System (GBAS); o The group is working off of a 55 page report put out by the PARC in April of 2014. o Mr. Kelly has a summary of this report but it is too long to include here. If anyone wants a copy, email Mr. Kelly at critpbn@natca.net and request a copy. Here are some highlights: § Aircraft OEMs (Boeing/A irbus) are currently delivering aircraft with GBAS and GPS Landing System (GLS) capability. § Category I GBAS facilities are operational or underway in the U.S. (EWR, IAH) and globally (Germany, Australia, Brazil, India, South Korea, Switzerland). The FAA & industry are investing in category II/III capability. However, despite all this GBAS development and deployment activity, there is neither a plan, nor funding for implementing GBAS capability in the NAS. § The purpose of a GBAS is to provide the aircr aft with corrections to its GPS position, integrity parameters to bound the position uncertainty, and selectable trajectory based flight paths. § GBAS system significantly reduces ground infrastructure requirements over traditional ILS installations. GBA S serves all approach ends to multiple runways within a 6 KM radius of the existing approach decision heights unlike ILS (this has been disputed recently), which only provides precision approach capability to one runway end. · Tailored Arrivals – T here is a DCP out to add Tailored arrivals to the 7110.65 1 - 5 - 3 STAR procedures rule with a planned implementation of May 26, 2016. Tailored Arrivals are fuel efficient, environmentally friendly arrival clearances that are delivered via data link. They a re being implemented at select coastal city sites in the United States as a key element of Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen). Initial development of Tailored Arrivals began during flight trials conducted at SFO, MIA and LAX. Currently, the Advanced Technologies and Oceanic Procedures
